Biography
Linda Lockyer (Nee Cvetkovic) is an artist who lives on a farm near the township of Walcha in the New England district of NSW.
Born in Sydney in 1959, Linda is the daughter of German and Slovenian parents, who migrated to Australia in 1948. Linda completed a diploma in teaching (Primary) at Charles Sturt University, Bathurst, in 1980 where she majored in creative arts, and completed units in Visual Arts, Principles of Design and Printmaking. Apart from her passion for art and music (singing and songwriting), much of the last three decades has been dedicated to her family, working as a part time and casual primary/infant teacher and farm life.
Linda has attended art classes at NERAM in Armidale under the tuition of Ross Laurie, Gaby Collins and Michelle Hungerford at Tamworth Regional Gallery and also Jo Ernst, Denis Clarke and Peter Griffen workshops run by the Hastings Valley Fine Art Association on the Mid North Coast of NSW.
Her paintings are colourful, textured and reflect both her love of and identity to the Australian lifestyle and landscape.
